Dr. Shyamala Rajender, a chemistry professor at the University of Minnesota, filed a sexual descrimination suit against the University in 1973. By 1975, it had evolved into a class action suit with many other women professors joining in. The settlement with the University in 1980 caused the formation of the Rajender Consent Decree.
